(TITC) - On 7th July, in Ha Noi, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Trung Khanh had a meeting with Mr. Graham Cooke, President, Founder of World Travel Awards on cooperation in promoting Vietnam tourism to the world. Attending the meeting were VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu, leaders of VNAT’s Departments of International Cooperation and Tourism Marketing.

It is an honour for VNAT to be nominated as Asia's Leading Tourist Board 2022 at World Travel Awards and Vietnam tourism is nominated on 61 Asia's Leading categories. This is the driving force for VNAT to further improve its role as the state management board for tourism, an important economic sector of the country, as well as to make further efforts to restore and develop the Vietnam tourism industry stronger in the near future, said VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh.
According to the latest report of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) of Vietnam in 2021 placed 52th, up 8 places compared to 2019 and stands among the 3 greatest improvement countries in the world. After 3 months of full reopening, Vietnam Tourism took a huge step to recover robustly, the number of domestic visitors achieved the set goal of 2022.
Along with that, VNAT acts as the pioneer to deliver the image of Vietnam tourism to the world by organising a series of activities and events to promote tourism such as media campaign “Live Fully in Vietnam” to attract international visitors to Vietnam; hosting the Visit Vietnam Year 2022 in Quang Nam; Vietnam International Travel Mart – VITM - Ha Noi; Kon Tum Tourism Development Forum; building a website to promote Vietnam tourism on the occasion of the 31st SEA Games…

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that Mr. Graham Cooke will accompany VNAT in promotional activities, promote Vietnam tourism to the world and share experiences to improve the image of Vietnam tourism in the eyes of international friends and help Vietnam shine on the world’s tourist map.
WTA’s President, Founder Graham Cooke congratulates Vietnam for being nominated with 61 Asia’s Leading categories at WTA. Mr. Graham Cooke said that Vietnam is a fantastic country with huge potential in developing tourism, the country has magnificent nature and friendly people. He highly praised the effort of VNAT in accelerating the recovery and development of Vietnam tourism.
According to Mr. Graham Cooke, the priority task to deliver the image of Vietnam tourism to international friends and let them know scenic spots and landscapes of Vietnam is to have an effective communication. Digital technology applications are vital to assist this task, the development of social networks, platforms and apps are deniable, most of the citizens in the world are using these tools to search for information and communication, keeping in touch to each other via internet, social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Youtube,... Therefore, VNAT should focus on developing the official page on social networks, uphold the promotion of Vietnam tourism on these platforms in order to reach a hand to potential markets such as America, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China, etc.

Mr. Graham Cooke suggested VNAT strengthen organising promotional activities for Vietnam tourism such as organising fashion weeks associated with promoting Vietnam tourism and traditional festivals. He also expressed his wish that VNAT would support in organising the World Travel Awards Week in Vietnam in the future.
