(TITC) – In September, the southern Ho Chi Minh City will be host the big tourism events including WTA’s Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2022 (7th September) and 16th ITE HCMC (8th - 10th September).
World Travel Awards - Oscar of the world tourism
The World Travel Awards (WTA), considered the "Oscars of the world travel industry", is the world's leading awards in the tourism industry and has been held annually since 1993, to honour the outstanding achievements of the tourism industry in all fields.
This is the second time Vietnam to host WTA’s Asia & Oceania Awards Gala Ceremony. Previously, Phu Quoc Island was the location of this awards ceremony in 2019.
At the press conference on 30th August, Mr. Graham Cooke - the founder and president of the WTA said that we chosed Ho Chi Minh City as the venue for this year's awards ceremony for its support for the ITE HCMC, promoting the reopening process and recovering international tourism of Vietnam.
Vietnam has received many prestigious awards of the World Travel Awards such as World's Leading Heritage Destination, World's Best Golf Destination, Asia's Leading Destination, Asia's Leading Cultural Destination, Asia's Leading Culinary Destination... Vietnam National Administration of Tourism was twice honored as Asia's Leading Tourist Board in 2017 and 2021.
In 2022, Vietnam is nominated in 61 categories including Asia’s Leading Tourist Board, Asia’s Leading Destination 2022, Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination 2022, Asia’s Leading Nature Destination 2022, Asia’s Leading Sustainable Destination 2022, Asia’s Best MICE Destination 2022…
ITE HCMC - Opportunities to recover international tourism
The 16th International Travel Expo – Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2022) will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on 8th – 10th September under the theme “Growing Forward Together”. The expo is expected to be spotlight of tourism marketing, affirming the prestige of a leading annual international travel event in Vietnam and the Lower Mekong subregion.
ITE HCMC 2022 will bring together more than 1,500 delegates who are from management agencies, travel agencies, airlines, hotels and resorts, and industry experts. The expo recorded 260 booths registered, in which including 50 international booths.
The event also attracted the attention of 50 domestic media partners and 20 international press agencies from UK, India, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Turkey.
Within the framework of this year expo, many events will be organized such as: High-level dialogue on tourism cooperation, Vietnam MICE forum, Seminar on digital transformation in tourism, series of events on tourism destination marketing…
