Vietnamese cultural space in Austria

(TITC) - In 2 days, 28th and 29th September 2022, “Vietnamese cultural space” took place in Vienna, Austria with remarkable activities. It is a part of Vietnam Days Abroad 2022, organised by the Department of Cultural Diplomacy & UNESCO Affairs (under the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

This is a special event to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between Viet Nam and Austria, and also an opportunity to introduce the beautiful image of Vietnam as a beautiful, stable, rich culture and dynamic country.

Mr. Bui Thanh Son - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ta Quang Dong  - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria cut the ribbon to officially open the “Vietnam Cultural Space”. The event welcomed the participation of a large number of the Austrian citizens and Vietnamese expatriates studying, living and working in Austria and in some neighbouring countries.

Vietnam Days in Austria 2022 provided the public with an overview of the 50-year friendship and partnership between Vietnam and Austria, and the exhibition “Vietnamese vitality” gave an inside view of a lively, attractive Vietnam destination.

At the same time, it offers participants a chance to experience unique traditional art forms of Viet Nam, such as Vietnamese tea art, Dong Ho folk painting, lacquer painting, and traditional musical instrument performance.

In particular, at the Ceremony of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Austria relationship establishment, the symphony orchestra of the Viet Nam National Academy of Music will join with Austrian artists to perform some outstanding musical works of the two countries.

One of the highlight activities is a fashion show connecting the two cultures through traditional costumes. The collection presented is an emotional combination between Vietnamese Ao Dai and Austrian national costume, bringing a new look to the Ao Dai and conveying the message of borderless cultural connection.
