Mekong sub-region sustainable tourism development project in Quang Binh

The capital of the Mekong sub-region sustainable tourism development project in Quang Binh is USD 534,794 in 2010, of which USD 493,734 is funded by ADB and USD 41,000 is reciprocal capital.

The Project will help Quang Binh Province promote its economic and social development; preserve Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park – a World Heritage Site – through sustainable tourism development activities, community tourism, establishment of tourism infrastructure, improving awareness of local community and developing tourism human resource.  

In 2010, the Project will focus on assisting Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in developing some environmental-friendly tourist boats; improving solid waste treatment system in the region; surveying, designing and constructing some small-scale buildings for tourist purposes. 

In details, the Project will organize conferences, seminars on sustainable tourism; community tourism; improving community awareness of biodiversity; environment protection; developing capacity of tourism economic sector in the region; supporting community to develop tourist products; promotional and advertising activities; study tours…
