International Marathon to be running through 17 famous tourist spots in Ho Chi Minh City

(TITC) - The running track passing through 17 famous tourist spots and historic sites in Ho Chi Minh City, the 5th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon will take place from 9th to 11th December 2022. The 5th edition is expected to welcome 14,000 athletes to participate and support the promotion of the tourism of the city.

The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon is one of the tournaments with the largest number of foreign athletes participating.

In this 5th edition, thousands of athletes, of which nearly 10% are foreign athletes from 64 countries  participating in this running track. The marathon distance will be an arena for professional athletes from Kenya and the Asian region to show off their skill. Participants can register as individuals, businesses, charities or running clubs.

The medal with the highlight of the rotating number 5, each image on the medal also depicts familiar and famous tourist symbols of the city such as Ben Thanh Market, Bitexco Building, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge.

The race has a variety of distances for participants to choose from, including Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.0975 km), distances of 10 km, 5 km and a kids run exclusively for children.

Holding the ambition to promote the beauty and dynamic of Ho Chi Minh City, the running track will start from the charming road in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City. The line starts from Le Duan street, right in front of the Thao Cam Vien Zoo, allowing athletes to experience the impressive running route through 5 districts and finish in Thu Duc City. Famous landmarks as well as historical sites of the city such as Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office, City People's Committee, City Theater, Nha Rong Wharf, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge - the new icon, connecting Thu Duc city and HCMC centre, and passing by many other main streets of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the city will welcome athlete participating in the tournament with a wide range of events, such as The 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week, the international music festival - Ho Do 2022 combined with the 2nd Hot Air Balloon Festival, organising tour itineraries with many incentives.
