(TITC) – On 11th November 2022, at Muscat (Oman), Vinh Phuc Province delegation attended World Travel Awards Final Gala Ceremony and received World's Leading Town Destination 2022 award for Tam Dao Town.
Tam Dao Town in the northern mountainous province of Vinh Phuc has been awarded the title of the world’s leading town destination for the first time.
Mr. Graham Cooke – President of WTA said that he has been to Tam Dao and feel its magical shimmering landscape and great climate. Tam Dao is not only an extremely interesting destination in Asia, but will soon become a global tourist attraction. He hoped that winning the "World's Leading Town Destination" award will attract more international tourists to come here.
Located in Tam Dao Mountain range, at the height of 1,000m over sea level, and about over 70km northwest from Ha Noi, Tam Dao Town has potential of all types of tourism: history, culture, spirituality, adventure discovery, ecology, and leisure.
In recent time, Tam Dao has been receiving investment, gradually improving its service infrastructure, and affirming its position as a national key tourist area. This event once again affirms the outstanding and unique value of Tam Dao Town, recognized as National Tourism Area by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism since January 2022.
The WTA has been called the "travel industry's equivalent of the Oscars" by The Wall Street Journal. The winners were chosen based on votes by the public and travel professionals across the globe.
Tam Dao beat rivals like Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic, Hana in the U.S., Jajce in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sauraha in Nepal, Shirakawa Village in Japan, Talkeetna in the U.S. and Wanaka in New Zealand.
