The central province of Thua Thien Hue is striving to welcome approximately 2.5 million visitors in 2023, earning tourism revenue of VND4.5 trillion in the process, according to details given by the provincial Department of Tourism.

In the final four months of the year, the local tourism industry saw impressive results in terms of the return of international tourists.
December alone witnessed the locality attract roughly 196,000 visitors, including more than 63,000 foreign arrivals, duly raking in VND437 billion.
Thailand led the way in terms of tourist arrivals, followed by France, the United States, Malaysia, the UK, Germany, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Spain, and Canada.
With a target of receiving between three million and 3.5 million visitors next year, the local tourism industry has deployed a number of solutions aimed at attracting tourists including the development of typical tourism products in association with cultural heritage aspects, as well as medical and spiritual tourism.
Nguyen Van Phuc, director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said the province has also implemented tourism stimulus schemes which aim to connect major travel agencies that launch new tours to Thua Thien Hue.
Phuc added that the locality will continue to promote its strengths in both heritage and medical tourism, as well as co-operating alongside other travel firms to develop a number of tourism products in association with natural landscapes, especially lagoons and spiritual destinations.
