“Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Year of the Cat 2023” - An unique and impressive space to enjoy this Lunar New Year

(TITC) - On 6th January, in Ho Chi Minh City, a press conference was organised to announce the “Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Year of the Cat 2023”.

This is a special annual cultural event in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate Tet holiday.

This year, the Nguyen Hue Flower Street got the theme “Ho Chi Minh City - Happy Spring, Prosperous Spring”, promises to offer an impressive, colourful flower street, marking the 20th anniversary of a unique cultural work that has become a new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City every Lunar New Year.

After 8 months of preparation, construction, more than 80% of the work has been completed, ensuring timely progress to inaugurate Flower Street at 4 p.m on 19th January, Mr. Nguyen Dong Hoa, Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Group spoke at the press conference.

This year's Flower Street will be extended by one day compared to previous years. Flower Street will serve the needs of spring travel and enjoyment of the people of Ho Chi Minh City and visitors from 7 p.m on 19th January to 9p.m on 26th January (i.e. from the 28th day of 12th month to the 5th day of 1st month of Lunar Calendar).

The highlight of this year’s Flower Street is the yellow apricot garden in the area of President Ho Chi Minh Monument in front of the City People's Committee. The garden is formed from 68 yellow apricot trees of Binh Loi apricot village (Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City) increasing the brilliance but simplicity of the area.

The space design of Flower Street is also expanded, visitors can enter from many directions and move comfortably, without following the flow like in the past two years.

The cat mascots are also made from many materials with many sizes, many expressive shades.

This year's Flower Street event will have the participation of the consulates of Laos, the United States, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and Canada. Flower Street will also be a meeting place for people from other countries, thereby contributing to promoting the city's image to friends around the world.
