The communities are called on to save electricity, save energy, and protect the environment not just in one hour, but every individual, community and business must practice it regularly throughout the 365 days of the year.
Saving electricity should become a habit, towards a green future, and towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050 as committed by Vietnam at the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference (COP 26), the message said.
More than 1,000 professional and amateur athletes will take part in a run next Saturday in response to the Earth Hour campaign in Hanoi organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
An online contest for Earth Hour has been organized for the first time by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on the website tietkiemnangluong.com.vn.
The whole country will switch off lighting systems in some public areas and streets from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on March 25 for global Earth Hour.
