A wide range of activities is being held within the framework of the ongoing Dien Bien Bauhinia Flowers Festival, which is taking place from March 10 to 13, in the northern province of Dien Bien.

On the morning of March 11, a programme was organised introducing festival-goers to the traditional rituals and cultural practices of ethnic groups in Dien Bien province.
The programme attracted the participation of performers and artisans from 10 ethnic groups, including Kho Mu, Ha Nhi, H’mong, Thai, Dao and Lao.
In the evening of the same day, a street carnival was staged at Him Lam square in Dien Bien Phu city, gathering more than 700 artists and local people.
According to Nguyen Minh Phu, Director of the Dien Bien provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival will also include a display of cultural space, an exhibition of tourist products and cultural identities, folk games, sporting events, a cuisine festival, a music night, and a beauty contest.
