In response to the Earth Hour 2023, on Saturday afternoon, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with relevant units to organise many practical activities at a public park at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge to raise public awareness about climate change and energy saving.
In the evening of the same day, delegates pressed buttons to start the countdown ceremony to respond to the Earth Hour 2023.
Immediately after the countdown ceremony, participating agencies, units, organisations and individuals turned off unnecessary electrical equipment between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. As a result, an average of 25,000kWh of electricity, accounting for 2% of the city's total consumption, was saved during the Earth Hour.
In parallel with sports and cultural events, an exhibition featuring 79 paintings drawn by school pupils citywide about electricity saving and green lifestyle is being held in response to this year's Earth Hour
