The issue was discussed at a Cabinet meeting on Monday under the chair of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Viet Nam now offers a one-month, single-entry e-visa to visitors from 80 countries, including the U.S., Australia and India.

The Government will also propose the legislative body to prolong visa-free stay from 15 days to 45 days for tourists from countries that Viet Nam currently unilaterally waives visas. These countries are Belarus, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Russia, France, Finland, Spain, Sweden, Italy, the UK, Japan and South Korea.

The National Assembly will convene plenary session next meeting in May to consider the Government's proposals.

This year, Viet Nam aims to receive 8 million foreign visitors./.
