Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2023 - “The intersection point - A lively journey”

(TITC) - On 6th April, the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2023 officially starts at Zone B - 23/9 Park, District 1. The 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2023 takes place from 6th to 9th April with the theme “The intersection point - A lively journey” associated with the message of the programme “Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City”. Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) attended and spoke at the event.

Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee said, the Festival will mark a blissful year of recovery and development of the city’s tourism industry. By improving the quality of tourism services and promoting tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general, boosting domestic tourism in the summer of 2023, creating conditions for localities and businesses to access and introduce tourism products and services to visitors. The Festival is also an event to respond to the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 “Binh Thuan - Green tourism comes together”. The organisation of the Tourism Festival combines culture and cuisine, creating a series of rich and unique activities to attract local people and visitors to the Festival; thereby, contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural and historical values of the nation as well as promote activities of stimulation and investment in tourism, transportation, trade - services, agriculture, digital transformation, ... contribute to the socio-economic development of the localities.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh stated, 2023 is a year for Vietnam tourism to keep up with its recovery. In the first quarter, the whole industry welcomed 2.7 million international visitor arrivals, served 27.5 million domestic arrivals, and total tourist receipts was estimated at VND133 trillion.

Ho Chi Minh City is the largest tourist hub in the country, playing the role of receiving and distributing international and domestic visitors to and from all regions of the country.

The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival is a event that brings great value to the tourism industry of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general, with a large participation of tourism promotion agencies in the provinces and businesses in the field of tourism in the City and across the country. This is an opportunity for businesses to access and introduce new tourism products and services, develop promotional programs, and present attractive tourist destinations to domestic and foreign visitors, especially the tourist market of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Organising Board, the Tourism Festival is also an occasion to express the love to the city in the hearts of many people, domestic and international visitors by sharing and participating in voting for the programme "Ho Chi Minh City - 100 interesting things" launched in December 2022 on website https://100e.visithcmc.vn.

The 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2023 takes place from 6th to 9th April with the participation of 150 booths from 45 cities and provinces and more than 50 businesses.

In the framework of the Festival, talk shows and seminars will also take place, such as Training and recruiting tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023, Conference on Tourism Promotion of 8 Northwestern Provinces expanded, Conference on Tourism Promotion of 8 Northeast Provinces… the highlight of the festival will be the Job Exchange in the tourism industry in 2023; art performances, such as: Pop, Acoustic, walk on stilts performance, pebble drawing, bag painting workshop, ao dai painting on paper, rice painting, intangible cultural performance; carnival map game; exchange and introduce about culture, tourist destinations between provinces, tourism businesses for visitors…

In the Q1/2023, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a million of international visitor arrivals and 7.5 million domestic arrivals, total tourist receipts reached more than VND 36 thousand billion.
