The Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment has granted an adjusted investment registration certificate for the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Ecotourism Complex project.
A corner of the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area is being operated and exploited
The project was awarded the investment registration certificate for the first time by the Da Nang government on May 8, 2008.
According to the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, the adjustment of this project aims to arrange and upgrade a series of approved construction items. The purpose is to satisfy the development requirements and the tastes of tourists, ensure the harmony between landscape and architecture, meet the standards of construction density and land use coefficient according to the approved planning, minimise the impact on the natural landscape and serve the development of biodiversity in the Ba Na - Nui Chua ecological area.
Notably, the total investment of the project will be adjusted to VND39,000 billion, whilst the completion progress of the project will be also revised.
According to the newly approved adjusted investment registration certificate, the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Ecotourism Complex project will feature an ecotourism area on the top of Ba Na Mountain with such entertainment items as French Village, Fantasy Park, ‘Ba Na by night’ resort, cable car systems, an area for alpine coasters, beer garden, a multi-purpose entertainment and performance area, castles, San Francisco street, a system of restaurants and squares, and a performance house.
Particularly at the foot of the Ba Na Mountain, the Suoi Mo eco-tourism area will be invested with the following items: cable car system, departure stations, cable corridors, gates, Hoi An waiting house, multi-purpose house, control house, a model of Trinh Temple, auxiliary areas, yards and other public facilities.
The Cau Vang (Golden Bridge) at the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area has been honoured as the world's leading iconic tourist bridge.
The Ba Na - Suoi Mo eco-tourism area officially came into operation in 2009 with the operation of Ba Na - Suoi Mo cable car system. The Ba Na - Suoi Mo cable car system won 2 Guinness World Records for being the longest single-wire cable car service in the world - 5,042.62m, and having the highest difference in height between the departure and destination points - 1,291.81m.
Since this first cable car system was put into operation in 2009, the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Ecotourism Area has awakened the top of the Ba Na Mountain after decades of oblivion, becoming a high-class Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area that attracts millions of visitors every year.
For many years, the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area has been honoured with the ‘Viet Nam’s Leading Attraction’, ‘Viet Nam’s Leading Tourist Destination’ and ‘Viet Nam's Leading Theme Park’ awards by the Viet Nam Tourism Association and the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism.
It has been named ‘Asia’s Leading Theme Park’ by the Global World Travel Awards, whilst the Cau Vang (Golden Bridge) on the top of the Ba Na Hills has been honoured as the world's leading iconic tourist bridge.
Between 2009 and 2018, the number of visitors to Da Nang increased by 463%, accordingly that to the Ba Na Hills Tourist Area also rose more than 160 times.
Currently, the Sun World Ba Na Hills is also one of the important driving forces to promote the post-pandemic recovery of the tourism industry in particular and Da Nang economy in general.
