Previously, the problem of severe environmental pollution in the basin of Da Nang’s Phu Loc River adversely affected the health of local residents as well as their daily lives.
Current Phu Loc River
Recently, the municipal Youth Union and the Thanh Khe District authorities have joined efforts to effectively resolve the problem, protect water sources, and improve the landscape for the river.
The municipal Youth Union has recently launched a project on calling on the community to join hands to protect water sources and improve the landscape of Phu Loc River in Thanh Khe District.
The more than VND700 million project aims to raise awareness of people in the district about water protection and landscape embellishment around the Phu Loc River.
Also, it contributes to the handling of pollution on the Phu Loc River, thereby creating fresh air, and forming a cultural and civilised urban lifestyle associated with environmental protection.
Under the project, about 190m of wall along the banks of Phu Loc canal have been cleaned and created colourful mural paintings themed ‘Green Da Nang’, aiming at calling on people to join hands in environmental and water resource protection.
Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoa, a resident of the district, highlighted the meaningfulness of the project, contributing to raising community awareness about the protection of the environment and water resources.
Moreover, 140 flower beds along both banks of the river have been built and repaired in order to embellish the surrounding landscape.
With meaningful and practical activities, young people in Da Nang have contributed a part of their youth to renovating the landscape and ensuring environmental sanitation. Hopefully, once the project is completed, the Phu Loc River will become a new and attractive destination for both locals and tourists.
Protecting the river's landscape and environment contributes to stabilising people's lives.
