(TITC) - Being one of the most magnificent and alluring waterfall of the Central Highlands, Hang En Waterfall, also known as the K50 Waterfall, located in Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve, K'Bang District, Gia Lai Province (Central Highlands Region), has been likened to a white silk band in the wild mountains.
Hang En Waterfall lies in the upstream of the Con River, flowing from Gia Lai to Binh Dinh Province. Behind the water is a cave with many swallows (meaning En in vietnamese) to live in. The name K50 is to point out the 50 m height of the waterfall. Hidden in the sacred forest, the waterfall retains the pristine and majestic beauty.
The most beautiful season to explore the waterfall is the dry season from March to June every year. At this time, it is sunny, no rain and the waterfall flows quietly.

From afar, the waterfall flows from the mountain to the stream splashing the white foam like a soft giant silk strip, across the forest. At the foot of the waterfall, the dull rock blocks, worn out for many years with different shapes. The beauty of K50 Waterfall has been dubbed “the fairy of the forest”, “the muse amidst the great forest of Central Highlands”, “the fairy of Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve”, or Silver silk line in the middle of the Central Highlands forest.
Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve has about 15,900 hectares of special-use forest, with a transition ecosystem between the East and West region of the Truong Son mountain range, so the flora and fauna system is rich and diverse. There are over 10 waterfalls, yet the most beautiful and majestic is Hang En Waterfall.

According to experienced visitors, it takes a journey of nearly two days and nights of the forest to reach the K50 Waterfall. Visitors can move from the centre of Hoai Nhon District, Binh Dinh Province about 20 km towards Xuan Phong, then turn into the road leading to An Toan Commune, An Lao District about 5 km and stop at the landmark of 10. From here, you have to walk into the forest road, it takes about 3 hours, to overcome the zigzag roads, the steep slopes, to see this magnificent waterfall.
Or if travelling from K’Bang Town, K’Bang District, Gia Lai, you must have forest rangers leading because the forest road is desolate and difficult to navigate.
