Through the survey, in June, the room capacity of some 4-5 star coastal hotels is quite good. For example, at the Furama Resort Da Nang, the average occupancy rate is about 75%, mainly family and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) groups. The Altara Suites Da Nang hotel on the opening night of the fireworks event also recorded a rise in the number of bookings as compared to weekdays.

According to this occasion, in order to facilitate the viewing of fireworks, hotels along both banks of the Han River are chosen by many tourists. Located in a prime location, right behind the stage to watch fireworks, up to now, the Glamor Da Nang Hotel has reached about 60% of its room occupancy. With a room rate of about VND1,999,000/room/night, when staying at this hotel, visitors can both relax and watch fireworks in a comfortable setting.

Similarly, Mr. David Coyle, the General Manager of the Grand Mercure Da Nang Hotel, said that so as to meet the needs of tourists, on the opening night of the firework on June 2, the hotel’s rooms are full, whilst the room capacity is quite high during the remaining four nights.

This hotel also organises a fireworks watching programme for only VND329,000 /ticket during which guests can choose from a 9-course Vietnamese cuisine or a European-style appetizer tray served with drinks. It is a relaxing vibe to comfortably enjoy favourite drinks and watch the fireworks at the same time.

According to Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association Nguyen Duc Quynh, hotel room occupancy in May was at a range of 40 - 60%. June marks the beginning of the peak summer season, and families are starting to plan to take trips.

Summer vacation, combined with the fireworks event in Da Nang, is expected to help the city attract more tourists and the hotel's room capacity is forecasted to reach about 70 - 75%.

According to a recent report released by the Organising Committee of DIFF 2023, the city currently has about 1,180/1,280 tourist accommodation establishments that have been back into operation, accounting for 92% of the total accommodation establishments, with a combined total of 42,000 (accounting for more than 90%), an increase of 27% in the number of rooms from the same period in 2022.

The private room occupation rate on June 2 is expected to hover at about 53 - 55%.

As reported by Director of the Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh, according to updated data, there will be about 130 flights to the Da Nang International Airport on June 2, equal to 90% of the total recorded in the same period in 2019, an increase of nearly 30% from 2022, comprising of about 84 domestic (equal to the number of flights in 2019) and 46 international flights.

The average room booking capacity is expected to reach about 60 - 62%. This year, there is no hike in room rates as compared to the same period of DIFF 2019. The Da Nang Department of Tourism is closely coordinated with the sectors to inspect accommodation facilities and tourist attractions for the safety of service quality.

All local accommodation establishments shall declare their accommodation service prices at the city’s online price declaration system at https://kekhaigia.danang.gov.vn, and widely publicise service usage policies.
