In the past, Bai Xep was an isolated fishing village which was known by few people. The villagers used to earn their living by fishing.
Facing the vast sea and surrounded by rolling hills and mountains, Bai Xep is nestled under green coconut trees, with its narrow and colourful alleys making visitors feel like they are lost in a maze.
As such, Bai Xep was named in the list of “16 incredible destinations in Asia that tourist don’t know about yet” by US-based news website Business Insider.
According to Business Insider, the car-free village is ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy a relaxing beach and plenty of fresh seafood.

Giving advices on how to spend time in Bai Xep, the website said visitors can rent local traditional circular boats, take cooking classes, and enjoy hiking trails that lead to waterfalls.
Although it was established hundreds of years ago and is currently one of the oldest fishing villages of Binh Dinh Province, Bai Xep has just a few dozen households with a population of 100 people.
This might have helped the village stay away from the noise and bustle of the city but keeps its inherent pristine lines instead. The life of the people in the fishing village is not too busy or noisy but just goes quietly.
Coming to Bai Xep, visitors are not only immersed in the unspoiled natural scenery but also have the opportunity to explore the simple and rustic life of local fishermen and villagers, who are very friendly and hospitable. Visitors can sit down and chat with adults or play with lovely children, during which they will understand more about the local culture and daily life.
In recent years, many coastal roads have opened, making Bai Xep more popular mong tourists and helping it become an attractive destination for visitors to Quy Nhon City.
From May to August every year is considered the most ideal time to explore the village as the weather is sunny, the sea water is clear and peaceful, and the waves are gentle for swimming and sea activities.
