The northern province of Quang Ninh, home to UNESCO-recognized Ha Long Bay, welcomed 8.86 million tourists in the first six months of this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 61 percent.

The above volume of tourists brought the locality's tourism revenue in the reviewed period to VND 16,660 trillion, up 56 percent against the same period last year.
To fulfil its target of welcoming 15 million tourists and earning VND 32.4 trillion (US$1.36 billion) this year, the local authorities have approved 38 new tourism products.
The province planned to organize a series of events, including the locality’s 60th founding anniversary, a cherry festival, and the Bai Tho Mountain trekking tour.
According to its Department of Culture and Sports, Quang Ninh currently has 613 historical and cultural and scenic relics, including five special national relics, 54 national relics, 83 provincial relics and nearly 500 inventory and classified relics./.
