(TITC) - On 1st August 2023, Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee coordinated with Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, SMC Hue Co., Ltd, Phu Bai International Airport; Tourism Association and related entities welcomed the first direct flight connecting Hue and Seoul (Korea). This is the first flight departing from Incheon International Airport (Korea) to Phu Bai International Airport (Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam).

The first flight connecting Hue to Seoul is operated in the form of charter by Vietjet's modern A321 aircraft, bringing people and tourists from Hue to the Seoul capital and vice versa.
The charter flight departed from Phu Bai International Airport late on 31st July and early morning on 1st August with 228 passengers from Thua Thien Hue Province, including a delegation to promote tourism and cultural heritage of Thua Thien Hue, led by Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh. Accompanying the delegation to Korea was a traditional royal art performance group of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center.
In Korea, the delegation will organise a forum to promote Hue tourism and cultural heritage in Seoul on 4th August. In addition, the delegation will have meetings with a number of cultural and tourism partners in Seoul and Goechang.
On the returning flight, the flight from Incheon (landing at the Phu Bai airport at 10:50 am on 1st August) brings 151 tourists, tour operators and media to Hue and will carry out an itinerary of 4 days 3 nights sightseeing, inspecting the ancient capital of Hue. This itinerary aims to create a deep and memorable impression on the most unique royal cultural heritage values as well as new imprints on the traditional foundation of Hue Ancient Capital.
The delegation will also be introduced to new products associated with the form of relaxation and health care being formed in the locality.
Visit a display space and demonstration of tailoring Hue's traditional Ao dai, and at the same time enjoy the typical forms of Hue cuisine. Some members of the delegation will also have a golf experience session at Laguna Lang Co Resort by participating in an exchange tournament with Thua Thien Hue Golf Club.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh - Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee said, tourism is identified as a key economic sector of the province; and developing international and domestic routes is the province's strategy. This first charter flight connecting Thua Thien Hue with South Korea is expected to make a strong move to contribute to the recovery of the Korean tourist market, aiming to have more charter flights from Korea to Thua Thien Hue in the near future. Besides, helping to promote the development of tourism; attracting tourists, especially international tourists to Thua Thien Hue.
Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, General Director of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company said, Hue - Seoul (Incheon, South Korea) is the second international route operated by Vietjet to Terminal T2, Phu Bai International Airport. Previously, Vietjet was also the airline operating the first international route to Phu Bai Airport from Kunming (China), opening up opportunities to develop tourism and trade activities.
Coming up next, Vietjet will coordinate with the province and Phu Bai International Airport to organise more flights, join hands to push tourism of the province.
