Most unique and impressive is the elaborately and methodically invested Fish Sauce Museum, on an area of up to 1,600 sqm, telling a story about the history of Phan Thiet in 300 years from a fishing village to a coastal city. 14 exhibition spaces with separate themes, telling about life, seafaring, salt making, coconut-roofed houses meticulously collected, and artefacts in wealthy families (fish sauce makers).
During a journey full of ups and downs, each person feels a glimpse in which there is still a hidden "character": the traditional craft of making fish sauce with enduring vitality. The nostalgic taste of the traditional craft follows visitors to the mini cinema to see the collected images of the craft, to the reenactment of salt people in the salt fields or to see the big barrel houses with their own eyes. Here, people learn about how to brew and draw fish sauce, taste the fish sauce distilled from the traditional recipe of Binh Thuan people as well as the effort to preserve the traditional craft of the founder of the museum.
In the Fish Sauce Museum of Ancient Fishing Village, there is also a special experience here, which is an elaborate performance called "The Legend of the Fishing Village". In the language of art, the audience can see a land that is familiar with the image of Kate festival, Whale worship ceremony, fisherman's dancing and singing activities, with love stories about the homeland, family, and couples interwoven throughout the program circuit.
