In the coastal areas, businesses have successfully tapped into the potential of sustainable tourism, facilitating economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and assisting individuals in overcoming challenges, and attaining prosperity.
Vo Hong Ron initiated homestay tourism in Tam Tien commune in 2019. Since then, his homestay has flourished with an impressive number of 70 to 80 guests visiting daily. This tourism model has not only brought prosperity to the coastal village but has also created jobs for 20 locals who enjoy an average monthly income of 220 USD each.
Visitors are treated to a diversity of activities, including visiting the early-morning fish market, fishing with local fishermen, exploring the countryside’s scenic beauty, embarking on boat tours across the sea, and indulging in scuba diving.
Various households have followed Ron’s successful model and improved their incomes.
“Since the beginning of this year, we have welcomed about 10,000 visitors, with 4,000 of them staying overnight. Many tourists come back, leading to an increase in individual incomes among locals. People now can handle their living expenses,” said Ron.
Travel businesses in Quang Nam province have been offering various promotions in collaboration with accommodation establishments and airlines providing enticing service packages.
“Previously, during the summer, Vietnamese tourists comprised about 70% to 80% of the total influx, but this year, foreign tourists have shown a notable increase in numbers. This suggests a positive development in our efforts to attract tourists. It is anticipated that with Vietnam’s adoption of a more liberal visa policy, Hoi An will welcome more international travelers,” said Mr. Le Quoc Viet, the owner of Santa Sea Villa Hoi An hotel in Hoi An city.
Quang Nam province lies within the Central Key Economic Zone and shows immense potential and advantages for the development of sea and island tourism. Since the beginning of this year, Quang Nam has welcomed over 5 million visitors, marking a substantial growth of 67% compared to the same period last year.
