A kite festival and a supercar parade kicked off in Hoa Thang Commune, Bac Binh District, Binh Thuan Province, on October 22, as part of activities held in response to the Visit Vietnam Year – Binh Thuan 2023.
A giant kite is expected to set a Vietnam's record at the festival
The kite festival gathered ten professional kite teams with 1,000 kites of various sizes, including a giant kite which is expected to set a Vietnam's record. The kite measures 23m wide and 38m long.
A parade of about 60 supercars from different brands will also be held on the occasion, along with the display of local cuisine and traditional culture of Binh Thuan Province until October 29.
In his opening speech, Director of the Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Cultures, Sports and Tourism Bui The Nhan expressed his hope that the two sporting events will advertise the land, culture, and people of Binh Thuan to visitors from both at home and abroad.
He revealed that Binh Thuan Province is working on the establishment of a provincial kite federation to promote development of the kite playing movement in the locality while creating new tourist product for the local hospitality sector.
