At the event, opinions were discussed and exchanged around issues such as survey results on the current status and capacity to serve Da Nang's wedding tourism market, a draft plan to develop Da Nang wedding tourism and pilot programmes to attract wedding tourists to the city.

Also, the event introduced infrastructure for wedding tourism in Da Nang, wedding tourism trends and propose some solutions to develop wedding tourism in Da Nang, Indian wedding tourism trends and some factors that determine Indian couples’ choice of foreign wedding destinations.

The comments collected at the event also shared information about the market, the potential to attract Indian wedding tourists to Da Nang as well as the difficulties in organising weddings, including the limitations of the local wedding service ecosystem.

According to Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre Nguyen Thi Hoai An, the idea of developing wedding tourism has been cherished by tourism service providers for a long time and this is high time for them to capture the potential of this segment, devise an action plan to connect with the business community, develop a service ecosystem and create a Da Nang wedding destination brand.

Wedding tourism is a very new segment in the tourism industry, but when done, it will make a difference, and if done well and professionally, this type of tourism will become a highlight of the Da Nang tourism.

It is known that, over the past 5 years, wedding tourism products have been considered a development strategy of many Asian countries, especially Southeast Asia, taking advantage of natural resources of tropical islands and islands, unique cultural values and attractive event organisation costs.

Not only does it have opportunities thanks to the general growth trend of wedding tourism in Southeast Asia, Da Nang also has advantages from the increase and significant interest of the Indian tourist market, one of the emerging countries with its lavish travel wedding market value reaching more than US$ 45 billion in 2022 and estimated to reach US$ 100 billion by 2025.

Although direct flights have not been restored, the total number of Indian visitors to Da Nang has so far this year reached 68,753, accounting for 4.64% of the international visitor structure to Da Nang. It is expected that 6 weddings will be held in the first two months of 2024.

The seminar also announced for the first time the message ‘Where happiness begins’ in the communication and marketing plan for the Da Nang wedding destination in the 2024 - 2025 period.
