Promoting green tourism products and environmental protection activities is the direction that organisations, individuals as well as management agencies strive to for the sake of the development of green tourism in Da Nang.

At the end of 2023, the International Institute of Technology of the University of Da Nang and Furama Resort Danang jointly organised a water lily culinary experience in a friendship cooperation programme between the cities of Cannes, Nice (France) and Da Nang. It is known that the water lilies used in the programme are taken from the farm, which is a dry land of more than 5,000 square meters in Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang.
Mr. Dang Thai Lam, in charge of the project ‘Nympha - Green water lily’ being incubated at the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, and also the person who renovated the farm, said that according to visitors’ reviews, when the water lily is processed into a dish, the food is both eye-catching and delicious, and especially honours the value of local cuisine.
In addition, Mr. Lam also implemented the water lily - fish - snail - bee circular agriculture model on low-lying, saline lands abandoned for over 20 years in Hoa Quy Wards, Ngu Hanh Son District and the communes of Hoa Tien and Hoa Lien, Hoa Vang District. Up to now, the number of visitors to the combined eco-tourism model that Mr. Lam deployed is increasing a potential green tourism product in the future.
Meanwhile, after more than one year of operation, the Bana Rita Glamping Farm eco-tourism model, Hoa Phu Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang has a stable number of visitors with about 3,000 visitors per month. The model has an area of more than 5 hectares, providing picnic and extracurricular services combined with skill training according to needs such as caring for pets, processing fruit and vegetables obtained on the spot.
According to Mr. Le Thanh Tuan, the Chairman of the Board of Members of Banarita Trading Investment and Services Co., Ltd., the formation of Bana Rita Glamping Farm came from a desire to the development of the city’s green tourism. Currently, the Bana Rita will continuously coordinate with partners to sell OCOP (One Commune, One Product) items in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang to contribute to promoting agricultural products, clean industry, both increasing agricultural economic values and diversifying services for tourists.
It can be seen that environmentally-friendly tourism is an inevitable trend, with more and more tourism products meeting the needs of tourists to immerse themselves in nature such as the Nam Yen Valley Vineyard in Hoa Bac Commune, Haly Farm in Hoa Ninh Commune.
Besides the above-mentioned green tourism products, many resorts, hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies are trying to create green highlights for city tourism, focusing on tourists to limit littering into the environment. For example, at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Furama Resort limit the use of disposable items and instead use environmentally friendly items such as paper straws, items such as toothbrushes, and combs contained in paper bags.
In order to preserve and create green areas for tourism, from the beginning of the year until now, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Tourist Beaches has coordinated with localities to promote regulations about visiting the Son Tra Peninsula and joined efforts with the municipal Department of Education and Training to organise a painting contest on the theme of Son Tra for elementary school students throughout the city.
Also, the cleanups of Son Tra and photo exhibitions about Son Tra are periodically organised. In mid-April, there were nearly 700 volunteers participating in the programme ‘Clean up Son Tra - For green Son Tra’ with a large amount of trash collected. In the coming time, the management board will install additional signage systems with content prohibiting littering and limiting the hanging of flags and banners on the Son Tra Peninsula area to not create more waste.
