The central province of Quang Binh is calling for investment in nine tourism areas and 11 tourism routes in Phong Nha - Ke Bang to offer tourists new experiences at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
According to a representative of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, the national park has become an attractive destination to both domestic and foreign tourists since it was recognised by UNESCO more than 20 years ago.
However, its tourism offerings are not commensurate with its potential while the quality of some services remains low.
Therefore, Quang Binh Province has approved a tourism development plan for Phong Nha - Ke Bang, which covers 124,832 hectares and is expected to cost 1,253 billion VND (49.2 million USD).
Besides existing tourism routes and sites, the plan outlines 20 areas with potential, in need of investment to develop tourism services.
The new tourism routes will help visitors explore forests, caves and rivers within Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, as well as historical sites along the Ho Chi Minh Highway in Bo Trach District.
Pham Hong Thai, director of the national park, said he wants enterprises to invest in new tourism routes and areas to offer visitors the best experience of the world heritage site’s unique values.
The Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is targeting 1.5 million visitors in 2025, with a revenue of 500 billion VND and 3 million visitors in 2030, with a revenue of 1,500 billion VND.
