Vietnamese culture and cuisine make deep impression at the UN

(TITC) - On 5th June, at the Headquarter of The United Nations in New York (USA), the UN International Bazaar 2024 was held by the United Nations Husbands and Wives Club. Participating in the Bazaar are about 50 booths selling handicraft products and traditional dishes of member countries.

According to a reporter of Vietnam News Agency in New York, the handicraft stall "Hand-made in Viet Nam" attracts special attention from international friends, with many sophisticated products made of ceramics, lacquer, brocade and silk imbued with Vietnamese culture… Meanwhile, the "Vietnamese Kitchen" booth with specialties such as spring rolls, pork sausage pate banh mi, and iced condensed milk coffee once again made a deep impression and received many compliments from festival goers.

In particular, this year's Vietnamese booths were honoured to welcome President of the United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis and his wife. After learning about and excitedly enjoying traditional Vietnamese dishes, Mr. and Mrs. Francis expressed their wish to soon visit Vietnam to directly experience more of the culture and cuisine.

At the end of the UN International Bazaar 2024, Vietnam is one of the countries contributing the most from sales revenue to the charity fund of the event organisers.

The UN International Bazaar 2024 is organised by the United Nations Husbands and Wives Club every year, aiming to promote exchanges and strengthen connections between member countries, while raising funds to support humanitarian activities and projects.

With the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, regularly and actively participating in this meaningful cultural diplomacy activity is not only to promote the good values ​​of the country and people of Vietnam to the international community and the diplomatic corps at the local headquarters but also contributing to tightening the solidarity and attachment between members of the United Nations Husbands and Wives Club of Mission officials and Vietnamese agencies in New York, USA.
