French agency funds Hue waste treatment plant

The French municipal authority responsible for the management of the Parisian sewerage system (SIAAP) has granted EUR 330,000 to help fund a sewerage treatment project in Hue Citadel, according to Vice Chairman of the municipal Hue People’s Committee Nguyen Dang Thanh.
The SIAAP has provided EUR 130,000 of the total to improve Ho Ve and Thanh Hoang lakes in Hue Imperial Citadel. The remainder is to be used to upgrade the sewerage system in Tay Loc ward.
Following a meeting of the International Association of French-speaking Mayors, which took place in Hue city, a working session was held, which was attended by the French municipal authority. The manager of SIAAP’s international cooperation mission Laurent Doyen said that SIAAP plans to conduct research to examine the feasibility of several sewerage treatment models in Hue Citadel. The results of this research could then be used to draw up an effective plan to provide support to Hue City in the future.
