Ngoc Lac to develop forestry, strive to plant 1,000 hectares of forest in 2009

In 2008, Ngoc Lac district (Thanh Hoa Province) planted 1,115 hectares of forest, reached 111.5 percent of plan, and increased 10.2 percent compared with 2007.
Together with development of artificial forest, Ngoc Lac also focused on the propaganda on Law to protect forest in all villages and hamlets. District promoted the in patrol task, inspection and implementation of urgent measures to protect forest. In 2008, Ngoc Lac exploited more than 8.2 million hectares of “Luong” (a straight bamboo) and bamboo. The value of forestry of whole Ngoc Lac district in 2008 reached VND 93.9 billion, increased 0.4 percent compared with 2007.

In 2009, Ngoc Lac speeds up development of forestry following to the social forestry. District also encourages people to develop the economic farms; promote the forest protection and cultivation; manage effectively programs and projects. Ngoc Lac district strive to plant 1,000 hectares of forest and exploit 8 million bamboos.
