On May 19, in Ha Long city, Vice Chairman of QNPPC Dang Huy Hau chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee to organize the National Meeting and other national activities responding to the World Environment Day (June 6, 2012) in Quang Ninh.
The World Environment Day (WED) (June 5, 2012) this year has title of “Green Economy: Does it include you?”. It will be jointly held by the Ministry of Natural Resources Environment, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, and Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee. There will be a wide range of activities, such as the National meeting and activities responding to the WED; a workshop and forum on “Green Economy and Sustainable Development; Talks and Exchanges on environmental protection along with launching movements and implementing environmental protection projects.
The event is expected to welcome over 500 national and international delegates, and over 2,000 people to join in the National meeting. This will be a practical activity to raise the community’s awareness in the nationwide and in Quang Ninh province in particular in building a green economy for the goal of environmental protection and sustainable development.
To conclude the meeting, Mr. Dang Huy Hau agreed on some contents regarding the number of participants of the meeting, the venue of the meeting, and the department to chair the workshop, etc. Accordingly, the meeting will be held at Thanh Nien Tourism Area (Bai Chay-Ha Long) while the Talks and Exchanges on environmental protection will be held at Japan-Vietnam Cultural Palace on June 6’s night. The Vice-Chairman of QNPPC also requested the Ha Long City People’s Committee to have great attention to the environmental sanitation.
