Young volunteers nationwide have pledged to share experiences in coordinating and organising events promoting environmental awareness in Vietnam. To this effect, a memorandum of understanding was signed by representatives from nine young volunteer clubs in Hanoi on March 16.
The clubs also shared their 2009 action plans, as well as called for organizational and individual participation in protecting the environment.
Through various activities, the clubs’ programmes, which aim to improve and preserve Vietnam’s natural ecosystems, are drawing unprecedented attention from young people. They primarily focus on raising public awareness of environmental preservation and to gradually change people’s behavior.
The “Joining Hands for a Green Vietnam – Connecting to Act” commitment will connect young volunteer clubs and social organisations through activities and events.
The signatories include the Cycling for the Environment (C4E) the Go Green Club (GGC), the Talking Green Club (TGC), the 3R Hanoi Club, the 360 degree Environment Club, the Students’ Association of the Institute for Science and Environmental Technology, the Students and Environment Club (Sn’E), the Bayer Environment Envoy Club (BYEE) and the Energy Health Environment Club (EHE).
