(TITC) – Nam An is a village in Tan Thanh Commune, about 27km from the center of Bac Quang District. Located near Nam Mu hydropower lake at 1,000m height above sea level, Nam An weather is cool all year, divided into two distinct seasons. The topography here consists alternate rocky and soil mountain systems creating spectacular and beautiful landscapes. So it is suitable for eco, adventure and discovery tourisms.
Nam An community-based tourism village has operated since October 2008, with 36 households and 173 Dao ethnic people including Dao Ta Pan and Dao ao dai with special cultural identity. Unique tangible and intangible culture values of Dao ethnic people are expressed through decoration of Dao women’s costume; design of house; instruments as ken moi, ken la…; specific long time festivals as Cap sac, fire dancing; folk songs and dances…
Cuisine of Dao people in Nam An Village also brings its own unique features with dishes as: com lam, thit lam (according to ethnic language, “lam” means something grilled in bamboo tube), kinds of cassava and rice wines made from leaf yeast and other foods in the forests.
To Nam An, besides discovering primeval forests with hundreds-year precious trees as sen, tau, gu lau, cho chi, doi…; many rare animals as squirrel, civet, bear, wild boar, chicken…; and beautiful waterfalls, tourists can also sightsee green Shan Tuyet tea fields; beautiful terraced fields of Dao ethnic people.
The special advantages of natural condition, folk culture treasure, hospitality people are ideal conditions to attract tourists to Nam An community-based tourism village.
Implementing policy of improving rural economic efficiency associated with developing tourism to restore and exploit natural resources effectively, People’s Committee of Bac Quang District has planed to build Nam An eco-tourism village with the area of 21.5ha. Bac Quang District invested over VND 3 billion to build 18 works including concrete roads, 3-compartment stilts house system, mini stilts houses, electricity line, water pipes, iron boats for tourists to visit hydropower lake… Besides, households in the village also were supported cement to construct sanitation works. People’s Committee of Bac Quang District also supported VND 150 million for Nam An Village to purchase display items; feed pig, chicken, rabbit…
Realizing effects of tourism services, especially cuisine and boat services, the villagers improved their own awareness of developing community-based tourism, protecting environment, preserving special culture identities to make deep impressions on tourists.
