Ha Noi night-market gives a helping hand to Dao ethnic women

Update: 24/12/2012
The five-star hotel Sofitel Legend Metropole Ha Noi, in collaboration with Community Based Tourism (CBT), will organise the Highland Festive Season.

Night Market featuring ethnic Dao women from Sa Pa, who will present their unique handicraft items.

They will have the opportunity to experience the hotel, helping to facilitate their understanding of inbound tourism, selling skills (through the introduction of their products), event planning and delivery along with hotel management and sustainable business development.

The market will take place in the hotel's garden from December 23 until January 25 next year, from 5-9pm each evening.

Market visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the ethnic female entrepreneurs and purchase a variety of unique items, with all proceeds returning to their villages.

CBT training programme, funded by PATA and run by Canada's Capilano University, aims to build and strengthen the capacity of the local ethnic people, particularly female business owners.
