An awards ceremony for the “Students, Friends at Danang Beaches 2012” photo competition took place on Thursday in the city. Organised by the Beach House Da Nang, the event called for those who love beaches to join hands to protect the city’s beaches.
Nearly 2 months after its launch, the organisers have received a large number of entries from local students and groups of local young people.
First prize went to the Dak Lak Province Fellow-Countrymen Association in Da Nang. The Second Family group took second place, and the Ocean Blue Club came third.
Also at the ceremony, a number of donated items were sold at a fundraising auction to raise funds for activities to protect the local beaches. The auction items included pictures, sedge hats, books and Vietnamese girl statues.
