New community-based tourism spot and route in Sa Pa launched

(TITC)-On 24th July 2013, the Lao Cai Province People’s Committee has recognized new community-based tourism tourist sport of Má Tra hamlet (Sa Pả commune) and community-based tourism tourist route of Sa Pa - Sa Pả - Hầu Thào - Sử Pán - Tả Van - Sử Pán.

The launch of new community-based tourism spot and route will offer tourists chance to participate in daily living and enjoy cultural activities of local ethnic communities. In addition, this is a chance for local people not only to introduce cultural characters but also increase their income from tourism.

To ensure sustainable tourism development, the province also issued regulations on tourism resources protection and environmental hygiene; creating favorable conditions for tourists to visit Sa Pa; ensuring the participation of local communities in tourism activities; maintaining security, social order and safety for tourists; managing investment and construction of tourist services and facilities in conformity with the provincial tourism development master plan 2005 -2010, vision 2020…

Developing community-based tourism on the basis of preserving and promoting local cultural characters, protecting natural environment and landscape is considered the sustainable developing manner of Sa Pa. With its potentials, Sa Pa is capable of developing high quality cultural tourism model in combination with eco-tourism and community-based tourism.
