HOME - The film awaking people's minds for global environment protection

The film "Home" by world-renowned French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand will be screened for free on June 5th at 50 nations on the occasion of World Environment Day. According to Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the film would help people understand more clearly about the threats to our earth's environment.

The film illustrates beauty of various lands on our planet captured from the air - an unique style which has brought Yann success for over last 10 years. He also wants to convey the message "It's too late to be pessimistic. It is time to act".

The amazing scences in the film includes: glacier-river of Tungnaa (northwest of Landmannalaugar, Iceland); Iguazu Waterfall - one of the ten most famous waterfalls in the world (Brazil/Argentina border); Great Barrier Reef (Queensland, Australia); premival forest of Fiordland National Park (New Zealand);dug-out canoes on boomerang-shaped Niger River; pack-camels near Tichit, Mauritania; farmers harvesting wheat at Dades Valley; going boat on glacier-river of Kimirut, Baffin Bay, Canada - home to many species of fishs and birds and particularly whales, seals, polar bears...; Shenzhen City - first ranked among the cities of best living environment in China in 1999...

In the last 10 years, the French photographer has been taking some 300,000 shots in 150 nations and territories, using a helicopter at altitude of 20m to 2,000m, with 15 assistants. In 2003, the Times picked him one of the Innovators fighting for the earth's environment. He was also rewarded Legion of Honour for his proud achievements.
