Accor opens 15th hotel in Vietnam

Update: 18/09/2013
The five-star hotel Pullman Hanoi, the 15th hotel managed by Accor in Vietnam, opened in the capital city on Thursday.

Patrick Basset, Accor’s senior vice president for Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines, said the hotel was previously named the Hanoi Horizon Hotel and upgraded with a cost of US$15 million. However, this amount is just an initial investment in the process of upgrading the 242-room hotel, he added.

According to Patrick Basset, Vietnam is regarded as a potential market as statistics showed that the number of international tourists coming to Vietnam grew by 12% last year and was forecast to rise by 6% this year.

Accor currently manages 15 hotels, but there are 17 more hotels to be put under its management that are under construction or having their brands changed.

Accor’s long-term strategy is to expand its presence in the market, said Basset.
