The sweet nostalgic tunes, the region V folk songs, the simple “bai choi” but full of the affection of the local men, the touching extracts from reformed opera,…, the voices of the rural areas are performed with the great passion and emotion once on the stage of the festival of folk song-nostalgic music.
From Tuy Hoa city and the districts of Dong Hoa, Phu Hoa, Tuy An-the places with the strong movement of folk song-ancient music, 7 clubs of ancient music, “bai choi” together with the 3 groups of amateur men of musical talents brought to the festival of folk song-ancient music nearly 40 items praising the nation, Uncle Ho, showing gratitude to the predecessors who had devoted to inventing the traditional form of music as well as performing the touching extracts of reformed opera.
In the competing part of Dong Hoa district’s club of folk music, after the artist Thanh Thuy performed the folk song of region V “Phu Yen land song”, the two singers Ai Phi and Huyen Trang sang really beautifully the song “Ho the bai choi”, reviving the vivid atmosphere of the old days when “Bai choi” was popular. Not only singing nostalgic songs to praise Le Thanh Phuong- the great noble man of the homeland, the “bai choi” club of An Hiep commune (Tuy An) also created a very strong impression with the folksong region V “Oh Bam” (lyrics by poet To Huu) and performed by Thanh Hai. The group of amateur artistic men Bay Canh (Hoa Hiep Trung, Dong Hoa) really made the audience touched with the nostalgic song Trong Thuy- My Chau, performed by Thuc Chi. The “bai choi” club of An Phu commune (Tuy Hoa city) revived one folk game favored much by the people in the South Central region. Such items titled “Bai choi festival”…brought about a very lively atmosphere. The competing parts by two young singers named Ha Dan (An Hiep commune “bai choi” club) with a set of 3 region folk songs Trong com, Ly cai mon, Ly ngua o and signer Thu Trang (the folk music club of Dong Hoa district) with the region V folk song “childhood river” also stimulated the audience. Mr. Binh Thang, a member of the judging board, assessed, “Each club or group of amateur autistics have their own band. They all make very careful preparations prior to entering the festival”.
For the very first time, the festival of folk song-nostalgic music co-organized by Phu Yen association of art and literature and Vietnam association of stages, Phu Yen branch, and this event is to celebrate the 4th Vietnam Stage Day (August 12th lunar calendar) and the Stage Anniversary Day 2013. The festival took place during the two days of September 15th and September 16th (August 11th and 12th lunar calendar), attracting nearly 100 voices, and musicians. Journalist Le Van Hieu, a member of Vietnam Artists’ association cum division head of Stage association (Phu Yen association of art and literature), group head of Vietnam stage artists in Phu Yen, standing deputy head of the organizing board of the festival, let known, “Folk songs, nostalgic music are reviving, and the evidence for this is the existence of clubs of amateur singers and bands. The festival is an occasion for those with the great passion in folk songs and nostalgic music to exchange, share and stimulate the passion in themselves”.
