Preserving Xoan singing in Phu Tho province

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a document to the Prime Minister to ask for approval of the project on the preservation and promotion, as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection, Xoan singing in Phu Tho province in the 2013-2015 period.

Accordingly, the project aims to continue preserving, popularizing and promoting specific values, traditional and fine customs of Xoan singing, associated with the worship of Hung Kings; improve people’s awareness of preserving and promoting cultural values of Xoan singing; gradually bringing Xoan singing into tourist activities, promoting socio-economic and cultural development in Phu Tho province.

The project strives to bring Xoan singing out of the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection to become an intangible cultural heritage of the human beings by 2015.

From 2015 to 2020, five relics related to the original Xoan singing in Viet Tri city will be restored for festivals and traditional Xoan singing performances, associated with the worship of Hung kings.

All people who have made great contributions in the preservation and promotion of Xoan singing will be honoured and granted preferential policies. /.
