Launching a strategy to clean-up Phu Quoc Island

Rohan Barker, an Australian businessman who has been living in Phu Quoc Island more than 19 years, launched a strategy to clean-up the island with participation of local residents and foreigners community living in this island.

Sharing about objective of this strategy, Mr. Rohan Barker said “I am really worry about pollution of this island, especially uncontrollable increasing rubbish even at the most beautiful and attractive tourist sites. Therefore, environmental protection becomes an important issue. The local authority has put a lot of their efforts in solving a large amount of rubbish generated from local residents, tourists and new construction projects in this island”.

Accordingly, this strategy has been initiated from enterprises, hotels, resorts, and residential areas of Duong Dong town. Particularly, the program has implemented since this March and attracted more than 100 volunteers to collect rubbish in the location.
