Develop 6 national models of coastal sustainable ecological development in Mekong Delta

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has approved the list of 6 national scientific and technological programs which will be implemented in 2016.

 

Accordingly, MOST assigned the Viet Nam Academy for Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement 4 programs including:

 

Researching and assessing erosion process and forecasting coastal changes in the Mekong Delta in order to propose solutions for stabilizing and sustainable developing coastal regions;

 

Researching measures and technologies to prevent erosion and stabilize coastal line and estuaries in the Mekong Delta (from Tien Giang to Soc Trang provinces);

 

Researching measures and technologies to prevent erosion and stabilize coastal line and estuaries in the Mekong Delta (from Soc Trang to Ca Mau provinces);

 

Researching measures and technologies to prevent erosion and stabilize coastal line and estuaries in the Mekong Delta (from Ca Mau to Ha Tien).

 

Besides, MOST has been selecting agencies to implement two programs: Researching and developing sustainably ecological model on coastal tide regions in the Mekong Delta; and Researching and proposing mechanisms and policies for sustainable management of coastal regions in the Mekong Delta.
