A training course on Xoan singing has been held by Phu Tho provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism from June 6th to 15th.

It drew the participation of 60 learners from Phu Tho folklore and Xoan singing clubs in the province.
The course aimed to improve people’s awareness and responsibility of preserving and promoting Xoan singing, and to implement the national action program on protecting and promoting the value of Xoan singing in order to propose this music genre to the list of intangible cultural heritage of the human beings by 2017.
By practicing original Xoan songs, learners had chance to gain more information about the history of Xoan singing, distinguish Xoan singing and other folk singing styles in the province and develop basic skills of Xoan singing performance as well./.
