On Aug 2, Dang Hong Thai, Vice Chairman of Thanh Xuan Dist. People’s Committee said that Ha Noi People’s Committee has approved Thanh Xuan Dist.’s proposal to build Nguyen Quy Duc St into a walking street.

The local authorities have begun to revamp the street’s infrastructure, combining with the upgrading of public utilities as well as entertainment and cultural surroundings. When Nguyen Quy Duc becomes a walking street, a variety of cultural activities will be held here, including street festivals, flower streets, arts and cultural exhibitions, street performances etc, said Dang Hong Thai. The new walking street will also feature stalls run by small traders selling foods, clothes, accessories, souvenirs and handicrafts etc. to attract more local and international tourists, he added.

Located in Thanh Xuan Bac Ward, Thanh Xuan Dist., Nguyen Quy Duc is 500m long and often regarded by many locals as the street of footwear thanks to a great number of shoes shops along the street. It is also a center for traditional and fusion street food in the capital of Ha Noi.
