More walking streets in Ha Noi’s Old Quarter

Ha Noi to have more walking streets around the area of Ho Guom Lake.

The new walking streets including Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Lai, Le Thach, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Hang Trong, Nha Tho and the Cathedral Square will be shut to traffic from 19:00 to 2:00 AM in summer and 18:00 to 2:00 AM in winter from Friday to Sunday and on some holidays, announced Ha Noi People’s Committee.

The inauguration ceremony will take place on Oct 7, marking the 62^nd anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (Oct 10, 1954 – Oct 10, 2016).

Ha Noi firstly opened walking streets in 2004. The pedestrian area located in the Old Quarter and mostly around Hoan Kiem Lake, is where visitors could walk, shop and try local street foods at weekends.
