The festival aims to honour culinary arts as well as promote the traditional culture and tourism potentials of Asian countries to European people, particularly in the Czech Republic.

This year’s festival features the participation of countries with a strong overseas community in the Czech Republic including Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Mongolia, India and Viet Nam.

Viet Nam had nearly 20 booths introducing dishes imbued with Vietnamese flavours, accounting for one-third of total booths at the event.

According to the organising board, Czech people love Vietnamese food because it is made from healthy and fresh ingredients.

The head-chef of a restaurant in District 1 of Praha Ho Viet said that along with the increasing prestige and position of the overseas Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, Vietnamese cuisine has been popular in the Central European Country in recent years.

He added that Vietnamese dishes most favoured by Czech people are nem (spring roll), tom tam bot ran (shrimp fritters), thit xien (meat skewers) and pho (noodle soup).

In addition to enjoying typical food representing Asian countries, visitors to the festival had a chance to learn more about cooking as well as the culinary culture, land, people and tourism potentials of attending countries.
