A park featuring the symbols of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)’s member economies officially opened in the Da Nang on Thursday, as part of activities of the ongoing APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week.

The park was build on a 3.047m2 triangular-shaped vacant land lot at the intersection area of 2 September street and Bach Dang extended street, near the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, in Hai Chau District’s Binh Hien Ward.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and Chairman of the APEC 2017 National Committee, Mr Pham Binh Minh, remarked the park helps to deepen understanding of APEC, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges amongst the people in the Asia-Pacific region.
In particular, Deputy Prime Minister Minh highly lauded the APEC’s member economies for sending their works of arts that showcase the region’s distinctive cultures and highlight the overall theme of APEC 2017: ‘Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future.’
For his part, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho affirmed APEC Park is truly a symbol of solidarity and cooperation in the APEC community where cultural diversity has been promoted.
Every arts work displayed in the park is special and beautiful in its own way, and presents cultural features of respective member economy.
The city leader said that this special park is expected to be one of the city’s must-visit attractions for any visitors arriving in this beautiful seaside city.
