“One hour for a cleaner Hoi An”, a part of the 16th Hoi An – Japan Cultual Exchange 2018 was launched on August 17 by the Hoi An city’s People’s Committee, Quang Nam province. Present at the event were Tourism Goodwill Ambassador, Ueno Yuuka (a Japanese singer), tourists and local people.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the event, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city’s People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung said local authority and people had done their utmost to protect environment, urban landcapes, preserve nature and bio-diversification, architectural and cultural heritages. They contribute to the local socio-economic development and improvement of the local’s quality of life.

At the launhing ceremony, Vice Chairman Hung appealed to everyone for protecting environment through some practical actions such as: planting trees, sorting waste, using environmentally friendly products, minimizing plastic bags and products.

At the event, Goodwill Ambassador Ueno Yuuka said the event was a meaningful activity, an oppotunity to share waste treatment in Japan. She hoped to contribute the ways the Japanese treat waste. She hoped to help Hoi An, a heritage city she loves to be more beautiful and better known by the young Japanese.
