In Vietnam, his company Greg Norman Golf Course Design has designed a number of golf courses, most notably The Bluff Ho Tram Strip in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Norman has a close attachment to Vietnam. As a tourism ambassador of Vietnam, he has a specific plan of action to boost tourism development in the country. He will make reports and carry out promotional activities to introduce Vietnam’s golf courses to international friends in the hope of attracting more golfers to the country. In addition, he plans to arrange golf tournaments and international events to be held in Vietnam.
At an announcement ceremony in Hanoi on October 31, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien said the appointment of Gregory John Norman as an ambassador aims to acknowledge his contributions to Vietnam. With a favourable geographic position, rich natural resources and beautiful landscapes, Vietnam has many good golf courses.
He hopes that the ambassador will help make Vietnam a high-profile destination on the global golf map.
