Red River driest in 107 years

Since November the water level in the Red River has reduced to a record low level for the last 107 years, said Dang Ngoc Tinh, a senior official from the National Hydrometeorologic Forecast Centre. Finance to cope with climate change will be a big challenge for developing countries, which are in the vulnerable group like Vietnam, experts said in a seminar on December 2. According to delegates at the “Vietnam and Climate Change” seminar, held by the United Nations in Vietnam, the financial requirement for preventing climate change is estimated to account for 0.5 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) of developed countries.
