VNAT honored as Asia’s Leading Tourist Board 2021

(TITC) - Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) was voted as winner of Asia’s Leading Tourist Board 2021, World Travel Awards announced on October 19.

On a tough year of tourism industry due to Covid-19 pandemic, the award is recognition of VNAT’s efforts to respond, flexibly adapt to the pandemic and restart safe tourism activities.

In 2021, VNAT has implemented solutions focusing on the resolve of difficulties for businesses and employees such as proposing fiscal policy related to preferential credit policies for businesses to get preferential loans, subsidizing for employees; proposing financial policies to support tourism businesses by reduce taxes, fees and charges; and proposing social security policy to directly support tour guides. Many solutions were done to ensure safe tourism, in which focusing on implementation of digital transformation.

In the context of the pandemic gradually being controlled, VNAT has promoted the reopening of domestic tourism and pilot reopening international tourism under the guidelines on safe and flexible adaptation to COVID-19 pandemic, effective control of the pandemic in tourism activities. This is an important pre-step for Vietnam tourism recovery in the coming time.

This is the second time that VNAT is honored by the World Travel Awards after the first time in 2017.

In Asia and Oceania Winners Day of 28th World Travel Awards, Vietnam tourism received many other awards including Asia’s Leading Destination (Vietnam), Asia’s Leading Sustainable Destination (Vietnam), Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination 2021 (Hoi An City), Asia’s Leading National Park (Cuc Phuong National Park), Asia’s Leading Tourism Attraction (Ha Long Bay).

Vietnam travel and hospitality sectors also were called in Asia and Oceania Winners Day with prominent names such as InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort, Sun World Ba Na Hills, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery, Vietnam Airlines, Van Don International Airport, Ha Long International Port...
